Square Suspending Sales, Offering Refunds for Mac Version
Square Enix has suspended further sales of the Mac version of Final Fantasy XIV and is also offering refunds to those who wish one. Additionally, those who purchased game cards for subscriptions and who are determined to be using a Mac license will have their purchase refunded.
According to the post on the NA FFXIV forum, there was a "significant discrepancy between the performance of the product our development team produced and the expectations our customers had for it, which was due to the lack of information available on our product when sales commenced, as well as other issues."
The post further states that the team had been working on performance issues right up to the Mac launch on June 23rd resulting in system specs not being released. ffxiv gil.
